How We Do It   How We Do It

From the beginning, AMS has been committed to manufacturing the highest-quality modular classrooms in the industry and — with the introduction of Gen7 — we have taken this commitment to quality a step further. After two-plus years of research and development, and integrating systems from key worldwide industry leaders, AMS has balanced the cost/benefit ratio to deliver healthier green schools. By employing manufacturing best practices while still insisting on the latest, state-of-the-art products and materials, we provide safe, efficient designs that are both effective and affordable.

The Benefits Of Our Process

  • Gen7's parallel construction scheduling and integrated concrete slab flooring system, enables fast delivery, while ensuring structural longevity.
  • We can execute and install during the summer months, which saves time, causes less disruption to school grounds and reduces safety concerns since students are not onsite. Off-site built school buildings can cut on-site construction time up to 60 to 70%.
  • Weather is not a factor as with other onsite construction, as materials are stored inside our warehouses and the majority of work takes place in factory-enclosed work environments.
  • We care about our customers and our employees and, therefore, have developed and implemented methods — such as requiring an IAQ plan during air contaminating activities such as drywall, painting and finishing. Performing these activities off-site prevents the needless exposure to the job site and the local community.
  • In our collaborative model, customers come first. Through modern technologies and other advancements, community involvement, collaboration and decision-making is continually evolving.

Because of our efficient, offsite manufacturing processes, our classrooms are delivered 90% complete, which means our labor costs are lower so we can incorporate higher quality materials into our structures at a more affordable price. We bulk purchase in large quantities and arrange special pricing with our vendors to control costs. Bulk purchase helps the environment by requiring fewer site deliveries, which lowers your project carbon footprint.

When it comes to effective education, we know that time is an important factor, which is why Gen7 is the fastest-to-delivery green classroom solution in the industry. While typical complete school projects can run as long as 1½ to 2½ years, Gen7 structures complete in about two to four months, depending on project size and scope, typically saving about a year of construction time. And, our proprietary transportation system ensures fast delivery and cost-savings.

Our procurement methods save public agencies time by allowing them to purchase these structures without entering the formal bid process. This cooperative bid agreement (more commonly referred to as a "piggyback" contract) saves up to three months or more in construction time, as well as project costs.
