  • Type: K-5
  • Completion Date: August 2014

Project Background

Brookside School is committed to creating an environment that encourages students to think critically and creatively, value collaboration and show respect for the earth. So when the school’s growth necessitated the expansion of Brookside’s lower campus, Ross Valley School District turned to American Modular Systems (AMS) to integrate state-of-the-art sustainability into a flexible 21st Century learning space. Working closely with the project team, AMS designed and built five single-story Gen7 modular classrooms plus eco-friendly restrooms, installed in two separate wings on the existing school site.

The high performance Gen7s include a high efficiency HVAC system —advanced features that lower energy usage and improve interior air quality by continually circulating fresh, filtered air throughout each classroom. Skylights and large low-E view windows offer a connection with nature, while giving students a bright, well-lit place to learn. Gen7’s recycled materials and sustainable features offer innovative learning opportunities, introducing environmental stewardship into the curriculum in ways that promote critical thinking and creative problem-solving.
